There is a world of colours and paint effects out there, it largely depends on what you like, race rep, custom, flip, pearlecent. I can and do paint wheels, but personally i recommend powder coating unless you want some thing special like blended colour. The amount of prep involved makes it pretty non economical to paint as you have to prep, prime, prep again then colour and lacquer if it is a base coat (metallic) where as pow...

Oh and the brakes, if they are binding then they may need a seal kit.

Watch out for fork seals as well, they go hard after a while and can start to leak as soon as they are used again.

Also make sure it has been sorned and is in the current owners name. You can be stung for loads if the sorn is not upto date.

If i was in your boat i would take some time to look very closely at the frame, if you know what side the bike went down on then check for un-natural kinks/bends, you will know an un-natural bend as the paint will be fractured and flakey, if you can, compare it to the other side.
