Re: Race visors
Just a note, I have a black tinted visor on my helmet, but I rarely wear it when I know I'm going to be out at night as it is affects visibility. I always end up having to lift the visor and of course I get hit by insects. :p. Make sure you have your clear visor ready and fixed when you know you'll ...

Re: Getting a license - How hard in the UK?
First aid is always a great extra skill/knowledge to have. Is the course orientated around riding, or first aid in general? The course is mainly focused on skills that could save lives in case of road accidents. However, they are obviously transferable skills. This includes lessons on how to quickl...

Getting a license - How hard in the UK?
As a new UK rider, I've been reading all about the accident statistics and stuff in the UK and in many cases I just don't understand how so many of the "younger" riders even got their licenses. I passed both my motorbike and car licenses in Switzerland so I don't actually know how hard it ...

Re: RIP
it's sad to see people lose their lives in this way but the fact that they had nicked it means they will get no sympathy from me. the problem these days is kids very rarely want to work hard to earn anything when it is a lot easier to knick something and the penalty is normally non existent. Agreed...

Windows XP or Vista?
Either way.. If things disappear for some reason, it's because explorer.exe has crashed for some reason.
If this happens, go to Windows Task Manager and go to File > New Task (Run...) and type explorer.exe and it should bring everything back.

Re: Greetings and at last something to look forward to!
I'm up in bristol from august as well, always up for a ride. I think speedy said he was up for leading a blast along the cheddar gorge sometime Sounds good mate. A few bikers I met last year told me that it's a pretty decent run. This is probably one of the only times where I am annoyed to be on ho...

Re: Parking in town for a little while - What security?
If my bike is parked up anywhere outside for quite a while I'll use my abus granite chain, wrapping it around the wheel and swing arm, preferably to something off the ground. It also hasa thatcham alarm/immobiliser. What alarm specifically if I may ask? i think it is an acumen Yeah, I see the one.....

Re: learner falls off
As some of you saw at paignton last night matt was in full bike kit( even if his jacket looks loke it drowns him, skinny git  ) Rule was that he was not going on the back until he was kitted up. Too many times you see the rider in full kit and the pillion in normal clothes. Its the one thing t...

Re: Dropped it
As I couldn't afford fully comp insurance, I paid a bit extra for front and rear R&G Crash Bobbins. Hoping they'll protect my a bike a little bit if it has a tumble.

Exactly, which is why I am still baffled by the surprising popularity of Smarts here in Switzerland. It's shocking!webster wrote:So's a bikeDeus wrote:Handy for parking though!

Re: Do you nod???
when we took my 18yr old daughter for a ride over Exmoor she actually practised her biker nod before we set off. She thought it was brilliant . Also Smart car owners wave at each other too, Andy hides when he comes in my Smart(which I have for business advertising purposes only) incase any other Sm...
