Re: Tyre wear pattern.
Please dont take this the wrong way, I dont know your riding! but I've seen this a few times on the wifes bike when she wasnt going all that fast. We shared the same bike a few times, when she would come in the tyre would look exactly like that but would clean up when I used it. It's just rubber off...

Re: 600 tracks
600's can still get around just as quick. Yes top level a 1000 will always be faster, even if it isnt by much but a well ridden 600 can be put around very quickly. My laptimes on Kellys old 636 were pretty much the same to my R1, I just made the time in different areas, I'm sure I could ride the R1 ...

Re: Zx6r running issues
Make sure the pipes for the airducts have been reconnected again, I know from experience that the thing barely runs if these pipes are not connected.
The pipes are usually around the headlights-ish area, its not a massive pipe either, about the size of a fuel line.

I suppose theres more to life than doing a job you dont enjoy, even if you're getting paid a lot. I'm sure he earns enough being a test rider plus other sponsorship stuff he has.

Re: Riding to my First Ever Trackday (Llandow)
You'll be fine, I'm sure they will look after your stuff but I wouldnt worry about it too much. Everyones stuff will be on show too. There is a large room where the morning briefing is completed, you'll be more than welcome to sit in there if its wet. I wouldnt worry to much about crashing, just rid...

Re: Pembrey June 11th
Phil Bevan Trackdays are pretty much the worst TDO out there, my favourite part of the day is the 45min morning briefing when they pretty much spend 45mins telling you various ways you'll be banned from the track.

Re: Latest twist for Rossi's title quest
So when Lorenzo slowed the race to a walking pace at Valencia 2013 and Rossi still couldn't catch up but managed to keep everyone behind him. He didn't care who won the championship as long as it wasn't his "team" mate on the same bike as his. So is that the unwritten rule you refer to. I...

Re: Latest twist for Rossi's title quest
HERO 2 ZERO. I was hoping that Rossi would get his 10th championship until his outburst at the pre race press conference in Sepang. I think that Rossi could see his points advantage going into the final two races could be insufficient for the title and created a diversion by claiming Marques held h...

Re: racechrono and gps recievers
Depends how accurate you want/need. 5Hz updates 5 times a second, so every 200ms but the software will (for choice of a better word) guess the rest so still fairly accurate. 10Hz is every 100ms. Qstarz 818X is the one I have had for a fair few years now. 5Hz and has never let me down. They also do 1...

Re: fork oil
If Triumph fit 5wt as standard then its probably the correct weight for most people & most conditions. You'd be about average weight for a European male. Sure the discs are not slightly warped? My SP1 had slightly warped discs, would always pass an MOT (with advisory) would feel fine on the road...

Re: Changing the Front Sprocket
Unless your current chain/rear sprocket is totally knackered you should be fine just changing the front sprocket. Look at the rear, do you have much adjustment left? You'll probably need atleast half the adjust left. Last time I went down a tooth on the front, I just loosened off the chain & cha...
