Re: Picture of old git 40 odd years ago

Nice pic, I have one somewhere from around the same time on my RD400, I'll see if I can find it.

Re: Did you know Exeter had a motorbike manufacturer?

The Lakeland motor museum definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in those parts, interesting bikes and cars. Last time I was there they did tell me ''no, we don't allow test rides on the Vincent''.

Re: BikeSafe

I did it last year, had an excellent time. The e-learning thing wasn't particularly awful but a 'classroom' session would have been better, that's Covid for you. Have done it a couple of times previously, and on all occasions the ride was a good one, the police riders were not aresholey about anythi...

Re: Farewell dear friend

Bike crime is on the rise here too in the SW.... EVERYONE just need to be careful and when out and about safety in numbers and never leave your bike unattended for too long. It's even worse with pushbikes. My son lives in Bristol, he's given up buying nice pushbikes, just gets pieces of crap so the...

Re: The future is now - next gen motorbikes

There have been lots of electric bike start ups, and mostly aimed at top end buyers, and strangely enough most have gone to the wall. Perhaps the way to get things going is to produce simple, lightweight affordable electric bikes with easily removable batteries for charging at home. Leave out all th...

Re: Bikesafe

Did mine Sunday, someone didn't turn up so it was just me and the copper. A really good day, apparently I'm not a danger to myself or the general public :D It turns out the police idea of making 'good progress' and my own are very similar. If you've never done a Bikesafe well no more this year, but ...

Bikesafe

Places now available if anyone fancies it, but they won't be there long. You're never too old too learn, and faults that you pick up over time get brought to your notice. Been riding over 40 years and I think they're worth doing every now and again. Jesus, over 40 years, time flies. https://bikesafe...

Re: Are you an early riser?

Early evening rides suit me following a day 'working' if that's what it is. Very relaxing - until you find yourself riding west as the sun goes down. Or the Earth rotates, for pedants.

Re: Scottish NC500

It's a beautiful ride with great scenery and roads, the downside is the sheer volume of motorhomes. Your chances of racing round it are close to zero outside of 1-6am.

Sheds and motorcycles

Fiddling about in a shed with a motorcycle. Here follows 34 minutes 58 seconds of perfection. My suggestion is you find the time to just soak this up, best on a tv screen, high production values. Enjoy.

Re: New Initiative

Perhaps it would be useful that no one is even allowed to apply for a car licence until they have done 12 months on a moped. That'll raise awareness pretty bloody sharpish.

The legendary 'Postie' debuts in North Devon. Looks like an interesting stop for a cuppa. https://www.dorothysspeedshop.com/?fbclid=IwAR0KLonyRp4AQd94ys3aLA728q_cdyyNWrWpFKBXsyND5kH2bxFP7W3nH5E No connection to me, just thought it's an interesting thing being done. Re: Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??

I never take my helmet off when paying for petrol. Never been asked to remove it either. Maybe because I'm so ugly the helmet on is better for everyone.
