Re: Any jobs going?

Simon - if you register with Indeed jobsite and specify driving jobs you'll get regular emails with possible opportunities. Some don't require you to have a van or insurance, you just use theirs. There's a guy in our place that has 10 or 12 guys working for him. Most are used to cover other drivers ...

Re: Any jobs going?

You do for us as you're classed as a courier and are operating "For hire or reward".....but I reckon half of the Hermes drivers zooming round in Citroen Picasso's and beat up old vans only have Business use on their usual policy. Not strictly legal but usually enough to get you the job and I've neve...

Re: Any jobs going?

Fancy doing parcel delivery? You've got the van, which is halfway there. Hermes are always taking people on. I can ask the boss at our place if he could use another driver - may not be every day and you'd need to be vetted but we've got more than we can cope with ATM.

Would love to have come Nick, but thought it best to take Mrs Ming out for once and she's never gonna be ready at that time. Have a good ride

Re: The next saga of my biking journey

Triumph Thruxton R? Still quick and well specced but maybe won't egg you on like a Street Triple. You won't get a discount or a demo ride on the 890R Duke. I bought my 790 Adventure without a test ride as they'd not been out long and S and P were unable to get a demo bike for months. It spent more t...

Re: How many on here get dirty?

Yeah - I went out this evening on the ebike and managed to fall off 3 times in 2 lanes. They're bloody overgrown at the moment so please get out there and bulldoze a way through!

Re: Ride Out Advice?

A group that size can be difficult to manage, especially if those coming have little or no experience of group riding and the etiquette involved so you don't all end up in different locations or worse, in a heap of bikes. I'd advise to split into 2 groups and ask someone you trust, if possible, to l...

Re: 2 way radio

I've used the Sena SMH10 for years. Maybe a bit OTT if you're just taking a pillion but it can pair with 3 other bikes, has a good range and plays music and can use it to make phone calls. Found it invaluable when riding in a group as you can discuss changes etc to your route without having to keep ...

Re: How many on here get dirty?

Pete's got a pretty good grasp of the rocombe/Stoke and over to Dawlish area. I think he's waiting for a bit of rain to keep the dust down and also he likes to get out on his kayak if the weather's good. We did 7 or 8 of the local lanes on the eMTB's a few weeks ago. Bit overgrown in places and your...

Re: How many on here get dirty?

I've also got a ktm exc-f 250 feels like the slowest thing in the world on the road but more than enough in the lanes. Generally try and get out with some of the guys in the scummy devils group, possibly a few on here that know them boys too. We should do a lane ride out as it seems most of us on h...

Tremletts at Ashburton are very good. John's been around bikes all his life and is excellent at sorting trail and enduro bikes.

Re: Epic solo ride out

First rule of trail riding. If the faller isn't needing hospital treatment you have a duty to take at least one photograph of the victim. One, for comical purposes and 2, he'll claim it never happened and then you can produce the proof
