Mallory Park 19th April
I've just made a last minute booking onto the No Limits day at Mallory on Friday, and am wondering if anyone else is going? I'll be in the novice group, Black and white R1. I've done one previous day there, and quite enjoyed it, even though it is a shorter and relatively simple track. It is a bit of...

Re: It would seem that I am a bit of an idiot
I didn't know this was a thing, so reckon I'd have made exactly the same mistake. Fortunately, I can't get my knee down, so mine will last forever

Re: Bike cover needed
I've got one you can borrow. I'm in Tiverton, so a bit of a distance from you, but could arrange you to pick up for Curry's in Exeter, where my son works. Let me know

I'm up for this, as long as it's not too cold.

Re: ROY B - please read updates.
Done. Only just seen this, and it is so sad to hear. Only met Roy once, but he was so friendly and welcoming on my first ride out with the group.

Re: Your best bike........,
Probably. We all have rose tinted memories though. I used to have a 99 Blade, which I loved, but was getting a bit old for Sportbikes, and found the discomfort was restricting my riding. Replaced it with a VFR, then several years later, with my current K1300S. Multiple bikes does make this easier, a...

Re: Bike advice
I had a 2004 VFR for about 7 years, sold in 2020. Loved it, did lots of miles and generally very few problems. The VTEC system drew a lot of criticism, but I really enjoyed the change in character as it rev'd past 7000RPM. It was comfy, handled reasonably well, quick enough and was pretty economical...

Brilliant, thank you. I feel more strain on the bank account approaching.

Re: Pembrey September 24th
Hi, potentially interested in this one. I've never been to Pembrey, does anyone know if there is any possibility to park overnight at the circuit?

Re: Track day tyre advice
Many thanks for the comments and advice, this is just what i was hoping for. Pay day in a couple of weeks, so have a bit of time to think about it before taking the plunge. Always got on well with Michelins, and used Pilot Power 3's on dry, damp and wet track without falling off, so that's always a ...

Track day tyre advice
I thought I'd try and use some of your experience, as there are clearly a number of experienced track day riders on here. ^:)^ ^:)^ A bit about me, I'm relatively new to track days, still in the novice group, but likely to move up to inters soon. I ride a 99 R1, which I bought last winter, and came ...

Re: Castlecombe wednesday 26th July
I wish.... I got black flagged at Mallory for noise..... blew 95 DB on Static and 108 DB on the drive by 😆 Yikes, that's not good. Static at Mallory will be at 5500RPM, and I guess you are up nearer 13 to 14k? That is a big difference and might explain the huge jump in the noise level. My R1 is 100...

Re: Power 5 tyres
Not tried Pilot Power 5's but have Power 3's on my Tuono. Work well in the dry and are excellent in the wet, as still have quite high Silica content. Used them on a couple of track days as well, including a couple of wet sessions, and they caused no issues at all. Wear life was pretty poor, less tha...

Re: Castlecombe wednesday 26th July
I've done Combe a few times now. Although the published noise limits are stricter, they seem to be pretty sensible about applying them now, and want to get people through. If you fail the first time, they will keep trying, plus they generally test a little below the 3/4 max revs that they state. As ...

Re: Vacuum brake bleeder
I had one of the Sealey bleeders (can't find it since moving house). I had pretty mixed results, as it seemed to introduce air into the fluid as it was being sucked out, so the fluid you could see in the tube was full of bubbles. This was even when doing a fluid change, where the brakes had been fin...
