Re: Brands GP 28th July

Whilst driving around at allowed max with an instructor, I was overtaken by a saloon car doing twice my (max) speed. It got up to the top of Clearways where it spun quite violently. Seemed that Mansell would take an elderly backer on a lap and deliberately do a couple of doughnuts.

Re: Tyres - clueless

Tyres are regenerating almost daily these days. I asked Protyre to fit a Road five on the back of mine to go with an almost new pilot road 4 on the front. I went off for lunch and when I returned 90 mins later the wheel was still off. The road five would not fit into my swingarm. Had to have anothe...

Re: MCE Insurance has folded.

Just had a 'phone call from MCE. I think they were trying to offer me a special deal as I'd insured the Blackbird with them. Didn't really make himself clear.

Re: Petition for automatic bike access to bus lanes

MikeZ wrote: Jun 8th, '22, 10:06Done, I live in Bristol where we've been able to use bus lanes for years - it's really good for getting through the traffic. Really worth pushing to get this throughout the country.
Me three. Saved me hours of jams on the Portway, A4(Bath) and A37(Wells) all going into Bristol.

Re: Car Insurance

It's a nightmare. I need to buy a car, pay lots for tax, lots for iinsurance plus residents parking fee. Adds a few percentile points to the chances of me ever getting back on a bike.

Car Insurance

Because i've had no car for 10 yrs or so I am having dfifficulty obtaining sensibly priced premiums. Also, my bike was stolen and I have to declare that. When I went from a car to a bike, I lost 9 yrs NCB, now going tothe way I've lost another 8 yrs NCB. Premiums are rediculous on anything other tha...

Re: Brands GP 28th July

I've done the Indy circuit in a 3 series BMW and an open-wheeled Formula Junior. That first corner (Paddock) is off-camber and many crashes there. Swiftly followed by the Druids hairpin. Would not want to do it on a bike, but then, I'm a wimp. P.S. They only had one (BIG) helmet that would fit me. ...

Re: Santa summer cruise

Unfortuneately it usualy coincides with the 'Run to the Bun'.

I've led the Bristol to Taunton sector twice and back-marked it twice. Wish I could participate again.

Great fun route on the way back via 3227
