Had that twice and frightened me to death the first time. Bike had over heated and it thought the themostat was dead. 3 cycles sorted it. The last thing that needs to be checked is the thermosat, hence the need to do a heat cycle.

I had something similar a few years ago. Every time I used the back brake. The indicators and the horn failed. One of our locals ran a used car business and he had a look. He found a miniscule rubbiing of the front brake wire which was bare (about 1 mm ) and touching the handlebar. A tiny bit of tap...
