Re: Tensioner fixed!!
Ah tinkering! Feel pretty good today because I finally learnt the art of valve clearences! :D Got the rocker cover off and was then guided by my mechanic friends how to check then adjust tappets. This may be simple for some of you but it's a real step forward for me as a year ago I thought replacing...

Tensioner fixed!!
Fixed my cam chain tensioner finally, bought one second hand from DK Spares. Can chain now sounds much quieter, problem is I can now hear how bad the tappets are  ! Still this learning curve I'm on is getting steeper but I'm getting to know my bike so much better :D Hoping to take a day off wor...

Re: Suzuki downpipe
You could have a look on oldskoolsuzuki.com, check out p p's pages cos he's got lots of info on what you can swap from bike to bike. Don't knowif there would be much on there for RF's usually it's GSX1100, Katana's and Bandits but worth a look. Otherwise back of MCN for breakers yards, highly reccom...

Re: Have you ever ??
I'm still riding on leaky seals, havent noticed a huge difference to the handling, the only time I really noticed was when the seals went year or so ago and when they were ' fixed' ( had to go back cos they did a shit job first time) found that the bearings had gone on one side of the front wheel an...

Re: Walk near Perdown Bristol
Luckily our car has a gas conversion so it helps keep the cost of running a car and bike together down, but add to that feeding and clothing three very young , growing kids, we're really having to run a tight budget. It's the double tax on fuel tho that really gets my goat :x , thats just pure greed...

Re: Do you nod???
every biker deserves a nod or respect, the biggest buzz i got when learning was when a scorp pulled up beside me on my my cg125 when stopped lights and encouraged me to get on and pass my test, never expected it and promptly booked my theory up because of it
Same reason I no...

Re: sticky thread suggestion : glossary of biker hand signals???
The one that made me laugh was when a guy in a car heading towards me flashed (his lights, not his ass  ) then put his hand on his head and made sock-puppet gestures. At the time it looked hilarious but looking back i think he meant there was police back that way.Never did see any police tho :...
