The FAQs from Llandow

Post by billinom8s »

These are taken from the Llandow website.

Q – Do I need to bring my own bike?
A – Yes you do. We don’t have bikes for hire.

Q – How old do I need to be?
A – 19 years old

Q – Do I need a driving licence?
A – Yes you need either an A or A2 licence to participate. A2 licence holders can only participate in the Novice group and must also bring with them their bike restriction certificate.

Q – Does my bike need to be insured?
A – It is entirely up to you and at your own risk. You won’t be covered by your road insurance, so you will need specific trackday insurance if you do!

Q – Does my bike need to be road legal?
A – No. But it does have to be road worthy. Any bikes dropping oil on the track will be black flagged.

Q – Do I need to wear leathers?
A – You do indeed and they have to be either a 1 piece or a 2 piece zipped together(a full '360' zip, not the little 6" zip that runs along the back). Full mid calf boots. Gauntlet style gloves and a full face helmet.

Q – What is the minimum age limit?
A – 18. We know there are some excellent riders who are under 18, but, due to the terms of our insurance we cannot accept riders under 18 on our trackdays.

Q – Is there a noise limit?
A – We’re afraid so. In consideration to the local community, we operate a self imposed noise limit of 105db

Q - Do i need to have a lever protector?
A- Yes, a few years back it was made mandatory that you must have a lever guard on the brake side of your bike to go onto track.

I don't know, like it says - copied from their Site.

Maybe it's something to do with private hire day, ACU license holders and Trackdays.

You could always ask them.

Important questions not asked or answered
What time do the gates open?
What time does sign on start and finish?
What time is the safety briefing?

Gates usually open at 830 but open earlier (730)
Sign on is 8am onwards,
Safety breifig you get told at sign on,

I was expecting one of the flowing responses.
Turn it off ,
Empty it ,
Remove it.

But turn it up sounds more interesting:-)

so long as it's lubed before the day starts, you could more than likely get away with turning it off

I have scotoiler fitted and always turn it off for trackdays otherwise it over supllies because you're using higher revs for longer percentage of the engine running time than you do on the road ☺
