Hi All

I am conscious that most years there is a concern from people that have not done track time before what they should lower their tyre pressures to and if they should lower them. So just a little pre help.

Yes you lower your tyre pressure, not always necessary on colder days though.

The increased surface coarseness of the track will provide more friction to the tyre.

As there isn't the 'start' 'stop' of day to day riding during your session and possible increased speed, the rubber in the tyre will warm up due to friction. This in turn warms up the air inside the tyre and increases your pressure. So if you went out with road pressures on a warm day (for example 40psi) you could, if going for it come back in with 45 psi in there. This reduces contact with the road, makes the tyres harder and reduces grip under cornering and braking.
It is only something to bear in mind, it's not something to worry about as on the day the head marshal will mention it during the riders briefing in the morning.

The charts below are just a guide.

To what I hear you ask.....

All

I have managed to secure a SWB deal for Llandow if anybody is interested in getting track day insurance to cover your bike whilst you are on track. For more info follow this link to a separate thread.

No spaces left. You'll have to put your names down on the reserve list now.

RIGHT, THAT'S IT, THE BALANCE HAS BEEN PAID

If you now need to bail on this event, please contact me, i will take the pi$$ slightly about permission slips, ball shrinkage, crumbling spine etc and then proceed to contact people on the reserve list.

if they take the place, the money will come to me and then i'll pay it to you. this way i know that the cash has transferred and can also keep track of the riders list and know who is supposed to turn up and who is trying to blag their way in.

if the reserve list doesn't chuck out a new rider then it's time to ask around and try to fill the space.

it's less than 4 weeks until the day of the event so there will be no refund from the forum funds if you pull out now i'm afraid.

see you on a rideout soon or at the paddock in the morning on the 8th.

i'll have a tea please, white, no sugar. ta
