Out of interest, why the DRZ instead of the 690?

🤷‍♂️
Why not life to short like me !!

Although I really like the 690 (too much) I think it’s holding me back Don’t want to drop / damage it as there expensive to repair and there also lots to go potentially wrong with lots of electronics etc
Drz are pretty simple slightly lower slightly lighter very robust and worth about half as much spares aplenty on eBay might still keep the 690 might not
Some my not agree but that’s my thoughts

For a Bike you know will be dropped, why have something that's precious and makes you cautious? IT won't be as much fun.

My wr has ended up in the hedge or face down in the mud a fox times now, doesn't matter pick it up, start again and keep smiling.

I've owned my DRZ since 2003 and I like it very much.
Over the years I have collected so much gear and spares for it, like a different rear sub frame for carrying weight and a larger fuel tank for adventure trips etc.
I doubt I'd ever sell it even though I hardly use it these days, though they do seem to be going up in value now. :)
1190 Adventure S, 990 Superduke, DRZ-400E - all the bases covered.

Was just curious, they are both great bikes.
690's crash surprisingly well  , come to think of it so do DRZ's :80:
I know what you mean about the simplicity of the drz though
