The first one was taken looking back up the trail from my waiting point.
the second was taken from the same point looking down the trail and down into the gully where the offending chain link had tried to make it's early exit.
Pretty steep drop down but still fun in the mud.

It's been a while but I think I recognise that lane - near Tipton St John?

I'm gonna start getting out again soon so need to re acquaint myself with those lanes.
1190 Adventure S, 990 Superduke, DRZ-400E - all the bases covered.

Yeh, that chain looked proper chewed up.
Did a stone get caught in there?

Yes, it's the one I was thinking of. That lane has changed so much over the years.
One time (maybe 8 years ago) the drop off was so steep I actually laid my bike down on it's side, gave it push and let it slide down the wall, then I dropped down on to it and carried on riding down the lane.
Riding up it wasn't an option then as the step was too high & steep.
