T595 rear shock upgrade

Post by Fozz »

Im looking to upgrade the rear shock on my 97 t595. Before i splash out on the usual Hagon etc, does anyone know if a shock from a different bike will fit?
Regards,

What's the dimensions and ends of what you have? You could have your original serviced, I took a 15 year old shock apart the other day ( just being curious ). It was filthy inside only had 1/3 of pressure, but perfectly serviceable.

If it was me I would go for nitron, totally awesome best buy for buck if your looking for an upgrade depends on what your going to use it for!

If if just road I would have it rebuilt and serviced, no need in upgrading.

Thanks for the advice,Baring in mind the bikes 22 years old and sitting unused in the corner of my garage i have decided to give the old girl a makeover and give her a track run out.
Ive ordered some progressive springs from Hagon up front and am in discussion with M shocks [shock factory] french based, they come highly recommended from a couple of mates and will build a rear shock set up in your weight range for £350 all in.
Only concern i have at the moment is getting the bike to meet the track noise limits.
The standard can i have on the bike is straight through no baffles.Lowest after market cans i can find claim around 102 decibel baffle in, is that cutting it a bit fine for testing? any thoughts appreciated.

I've taken a triumph carbon can off of the one I'm working on. That'll be ok for the track.
