Don't go for carbon ceramic unless you're riding on track, you won't get them hot enough.

So I'm guessing that if I do a track day, it's worth buying and fitting some proper race pads?billinom8s wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '20, 14:43 Don't go for carbon ceramic unless you're riding on track, you won't get them hot enough.
I'd like to do a track day at some point in the future, but for now it's just for street use. I've gone for the SBS Evo Sinter pads as they were recommended here. I got them off eBay, as much as I'd like to support local shops they're not available here, and the others were a lot more expensive. I'll fit them and post results, thanks everyone for the help!

Nah, not unless you're running hot lap times and on it big time.VirtualMark wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '20, 16:14So I'm guessing that if I do a track day, it's worth buying and fitting some proper race pads?billinom8s wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '20, 14:43 Don't go for carbon ceramic unless you're riding on track, you won't get them hot enough.
Standard roads pads are easily enough.

Fully agree, and double H's are, IMO, the best compromise.billinom8s wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '20, 17:56Nah, not unless you're running hot lap times and on it big time.VirtualMark wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '20, 16:14So I'm guessing that if I do a track day, it's worth buying and fitting some proper race pads?billinom8s wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '20, 14:43 Don't go for carbon ceramic unless you're riding on track, you won't get them hot enough.

I must admit i always use EBC (HH on my Z and CCM, and the soft ones on my old XJ600), so brand/type is down to personal choice and feel. Quite a few years back i did try cheap pads, they were horrible with no stopping power or feel.

I use these on both the Busa and B-King:-
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brembo-SC-Fr ... SwXXBdlzPV
For what they have to do I consider that a very cheap price.
The Fazer thou which has inherited the B-K calipers has Brembo SC pads too.
