Where do you normally get your work done ? Any bike shop can supply and fit tyres,if your loyal to one try then as they should give you a good price and you won't need to do worry about some discount for being a forum member.I have 2 or 3 shops I regualry use and through that loyalty I never pay full rrp

To be fair to CMS, I would never have said they were particualrly expensive compared to most other shops around
If you are comparing to ebay prices, then that is different, but if you take a loose wheel and tyre pretty much anywhere now, you're looking at up to £20 to fit and balance per wheel
I beleive Jamie at Bikeworx will fit tyres
Your SWB membership card will give you a 10% discount at Protyre too

I think I saw you and Delvey today. Delvey going into town along Beacon Lane about 12.30, whoever it was waved, n you coming out of town along Beacon Lane about 1.00ish, n didn’t wave.
I've had tyres from CMS and BikeWorx, and they were both about the same price. The last one from CMS was in June 2009, Bridgestone BT45R 130/80-17 £70, plus ultra-seal £13 plus VAT £12, total £95. BikeWorx was at MOT time so took them off the bike for me. As I have a car I take them off the bike myself and down to CMS. I've not been to SP or Bridge, but I look at those big shiney showrooms and assume the must have higher overheads and hence higher prices. If you buy your tyres online and fit them yourself then ideally you should get them balanced depending on how fast you want to go, so you'd still have to take them to a garage. As for Protyre I've not tried them.

Re: new tyre!!!! help please :)
not necessarily true, bigger shops = better buying power = better discounts so potentially better pricing, the labour charges might be higher though. when ive had tyres from sp they've always been cheaper than protyre,i use a guy local to me who makes his money on the fitting the tyres not supplying themSixth Gear wrote: I've not been to SP or Bridge, but I look at those big shiney showrooms and assume the must have higher overheads and hence higher prices. That's kinda cool - sort of thing you'd hire when on holiday somewhere hot, can just imagine riding it in shorts with no lid to get to some remote beach (can also imagine a few other things on that beach toodelvey91 wrote:
