CBF 1000 Temp warning lamp

Post by Kevitree »

Aaarrgghh whilst commuting the warning lamp illuminated yesterday on way in...

Checked Coolant level - OK
Checked fan cutting in - OK

went out again when moving and not sat in traffic

Radiator not warm all the way through....

so next weeks week off will consist of NOT chrimbo shopping but removing Radiator and flow testing and thermostat.

Anybody any experience of getting one recored seeing as a new one is aprox £400 :((

It will be thermostat for sure......a radiator does not suddenly block up [unless it is something big].....before you spend loads of money, if your not sure its a jammed thermostat, just remove it and run bike without it and see if you get flow through rad or not.....bare in mind it will not be as hot to touch without therm.

Heater wont work :|

Get me coat................

Seriously though, if there is an ecu program available for your bike, there may be an option to get the fan to cut in earlier. I use tuneecu on my trumpets and this is possible.
