Carb syncing/balancing

Post by Rich999 »

Hi,
Have just taken delivery of my beautiful ALL green 2000 ZX9-R all the way from bonny Scotland. However, there appears to be a carb problem and she won't tick-over and cuts out regularly when pulling up. Can't be out that much coz she flies once going but the lack of throttle control/sputtering/backfiring and power from pull away is making her un-rideable and spoiling the joy of the new toy :(

Is anyone able to help please? I'm in Bridgwater, Somerset but am quite happy to ride to wherever.

Thanks.

Rich.

Pop along to this place loads of info there, friendly bunch, Freeze & Mel64 are on there as well. :D

Pop into the newbies and say Hi, there are loads of guys from Scotland, it was probably owned by another member.

Had similar problem on an old fzr a while back , went very well once passed a certain rpm but farted and coughed upto about 5000 rpm . Blocked pilot jet , start bike from cold and carefully touch each of the downpipes ,if its the pilot jets one or more of the downpipes wont be getting warm . I used a can of compressed air and carb cleaner and a whole lot of patience .
Have a go dude , its rewarding if you can nail the sucker !
