Tie down / Strap damage to tank cover - HELP!

Post by Shooey »

Hi All.

After a near miss with a tree in the road on the way to Llandow, the resulting swerve (Robbo driving!) led to my bike tipping over on the trailer and some 'light' damage, scuff, rash to my tank cover - see images. There are no dents, just scuffs!

Can anyone help or suggest someone that can put this right for me?

Many thanks

Two things

Why did you have a strap over the tank?

Contact Gee46 as he's a paint master.

But now it's damaged it can be a dedicated trackbike, you can't possibly ride it in that condition on the road, best get another road Bike too.

Cbr600rr? 2007 on shape?

If so it is just a plastic tank cover. (Big metal tank underneath,
So maybe even get away with just re sticker in the cover,
Repainting the cover.
Or getting lucky and finding a good second hand one on evilbay or similar

Trailer had very few tie off points. But yes, in retrospect - bad idea!!

That would be the plan ... but there needs to be a tad more damage to dedicate it ‘a track bike’ but I like the way your thinking!!
