What have you done to your bike today??

Post by TLS-Moose »

I decided to tackle a planned preventative maintenance job I've been putting off for a while, letting it become a bigger job in my mind than in reality :erm:

Two (big) nuts, and four bolts was all it took, along with a little bravery, to re-grease the wheel spindle bearings on the MV. Although the bike hasn't done many miles, it is going to be 13 this year, so a check and re-grease won't go amiss on this known weak point. Anyhoo, a picture speaks a thousand words, so here's a few ........

Nothing that involved for me, yesterday was 1st service day for the new 1290 (30 Miles early at 570 miles but near enough). Book stamped, “service done” clicked so the tacho won’t get all red and angry on me if I exceed 6,500rpm now.
Chicky and I passed the time by taking their 390 & 790 Duke demo bikes out for a play. The 390 was all revs and taking liberties like an overgrown 125, the 790 was a proper bit of kit, lovely and impressive... so much so that Chicky is now looking into selling her SV and treating herself to one... 8)

Big shout out to Darren from Premier Bikes who dropped everything and went out in the van to rescue Chicky after the battery on her SV died within a couple of miles of the shop. New battery fitted, SV fine to ride home...

My road was 'dressed' 2 years ago. As there is permanent car parking on both sides, the gravel still remains where I put the bikes.

Purchased a hard broom off the interweb and started sweeping sections to the pavement then collecing with dustpan and wire brush.

Had several footslides and was getting worried with the new tank. Done about a quarter of my projected area and filled 5 dustpan loads.

Solfa so good.
