Turf Locks, nr Exminster

Went to the Turf Locks with a few friends one evening last week - other than the long bumpy drive to the pub was worth the trip. Landlord was really friendly and said if there's a group of bikes heading that way to call in advance and he will do a few snacks for everyone. Think he closes fairly early in the evening though (9.30ish when we were there) but its a really nice pub with decent beer. Situated on the lock where the canal meets the river Exe. I reckon it would be a good port of call after a rideout.

If you've not been before, from Countesswear roundabout head for Dawlish, take the first exit on the roundabout past the Exminster turning for the Swan's Nest and just go over the bridge and follow the road as far as you can go. You can get a bike through the pedestrian gate if the main gate is locked to save the hike from the gate to the pub

I used to go there a lot , when i lived in Exeter . Im up for heading over there sometime on the Black Widow , if anyone fancies it

He only opens full hours in the summer. but would be a grate stop of coming back from a dartmouth ride heading back into (through) exeter.

Am I in the wrong place but don't you get to the Turf Locks through Marsh Barton? Or is that another pub?
