I've got the renapur stuff and it lasts for years.

I've also heard of using wet wipes first to get the dirt off, then apply renapur or similar to shine and waterproof.

Cleaning your leathers

Post by LWR GERRY »

Come on guys get with it ,clean your leathers yourselves, low PH soap- in the shower and a sponge will do the trick! Dry in the garden over the clothes-line....
Make sure you've got another set to wear whilst drying out!

If you like wearing leather in the shower I suggest you get someone in with you to wash them down, but you will need to wear them inside out  :)

I'll lather myself up, put leathers on, then just wedge the shower head down the jacket.

Easy.

A nice coating of flies and bugs makes for a good waterproofing agent.
The odd bit of pheasant grease (ask dave) also works.

Same sort of problem in reverse. I have a great black leather motorcycle jacket that has kept me in good stead for years. The black is coming off around the cuff and other areas. I have tried boot polish but that don't seem to work. Any SENSIBLE ideas please.

Cheers
