Turned out really well :)

We finally started around 11am after some 'mishaps' in the town centre  managed to get the bike started at 7:30pm but alot of the early time was spent sanding/filing/dremalling the freshly powder coated swingarm. Worked through until 12am that night then a few hours the next morning, even fabricated a super lightweight strong ali exhaust hanger with only a dremal and a hammer :)

Still got a problem with the front brake, its fine when stood still but loses all pressure when the bike is started! mind you the brake system did spend like 2 months on its side.

Hats off to you boys i really enjoyed that watch.

I know whats its like the nervous feeling when spinning over a motor for the first time. The best one i remember is rebuilding my ex boss's Austin Healey after i stripped it 5 years earlier when i was an apprentice. It near enough started on first compression once we bled the fuel system. Amased

Great job chaps and big thumbs up, Well done

Anything that really rattled you and nearly made you throw in the towel ??

No towel throwing as such, confusion about the front brake not working but that turned out to be a bent disk. Apart from that it all went together fairly smoothly. Took it for a spin last night and all seems to be ok. Fingers crossed.

Cheers georgie, its my old r1. If you have the bits its like a big jigsaw, only trouble is it still goes together even if you don't have all the pieces.
