Question from a newbee!

Look in here for local ride outs...

You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Question from a newbee!

Post by danseaman »

Hi everyone, just a quick question from me, from what I can see is most ride outs are for people with full bike licenses and powerful bikes! I only have a CBT and a YBR125, around how many ride outs would I be able to attend each year?

Many thanks,
Dan

we have a rideout coming up in march, its known as the friendly and you are more than welcome to come along on that one, anyone with a bike that can do the speed limits can come along. all junctions are marked and there is a back marker so no one gets left behind - the ride is run at posted speed limits.

all bikes, all sizes, all welcome.

some of the rides might be a little pacey for a 125 but others not so. failing that, post a run up. if you are out for a bimble one day, who knows who will pop along and as you are leading the ride, you set the pace. :D

well you would have to get down to tiverton for the start but after that there are no motorways, very boring roads are these.

i should imagine your bike would be pretty much flat out for most of the day though.

You'll be fine on the friendly, but as Si says, why plan a few of your own ride outs and if you post it up mention you have a small capacity bike so those who want to go 'progressively' ;) will know its not for them , while some who are like yourself on smaller bikes, or just like the gentler pace will be more inclined to come along.

Hmmmmmmmm, maybe i might run one myself in the spring, especially after Falcon's post about test nerves.

+1 Badger!

Post up a 125 rideout! There's more here than you'd think (we all started somewhere!)

Thank you everyone :) I will post a 125cc ride when the weather improves! Also I may be at the friendly depending if anything pops-up.

I love the idea of a 125 rideout, maybe we could try to make it regular thing like the friendlies. Would probably help long term progression and hopefully mean we dont lose pups as they feel overwhelmed. I would always be up for helping out, though im not sure the pups should learn from me!
