South Wales - August 3rd, 4th or 5th

Post by ptolemyx »

I'll be riding up to the Brecons area on 2nd August, staying a few days and coming home on the 6th. Anyone fancy meeting for a ride when I'm there?

If I survive the Shawbury trackday on the 27th July that Shooey's got me into, I could get interested yes. Quite fancy a couple of days amongst the wooly chicanes - 'specialy if there's a pretty one!

Are you camping, B&B-ing, family visiting, or what?

About 90 miles from the (old) bridge.

I have a lovely route up with a good refreshment stop. Prob be an overnighter for the australis peeps but I'd have a cuppa or two and return.

Any date suits me. We'll see.

We nearly got to Rhayader couple Mondays ago.Got as far as Buith Wells, then dropped to Llandovery,A482 to Lampeter and towards the coast to Aberaeron where we stayed the night.Next morning rode the A487 coast road around to Pembroke,a night there and then decided to visit a friend in Bourton on the water so a nice cross country run .Lovely roads mostly void of traffic[until we hit Ross on Wye].
We hit the Bridge as much as possible as only an hour run and even on weekends you can find somewhere quiet to play

You'll be missed Andy.
I'm going up Thursday - the long way round. Friday down to Chepstow to meet Robbo87 who's staying 2 nights and we've a nice twisty route planned to Rhayader from there. Saturday we'll blast about together - see the route I've posted in the ride outs section. Sunday I'll ride back towards the bridge with him then over to Carmarthenhire and wave to Aberysthwyth on the way to Snowdonia, that'll be a long day in the saddle! Monday back to sillyvisation.
