Mid week early morning ride out Wednesday 8/8/18

Post by menzies3032 »

Would you believe it it’s going to rain at the weekend so time to try something a little differant.

Ride starts at 6:15am from Bridge Motorbikes will be a ride heading towards north Devon and then back to Exeter where the ride will finish. Depending on who attends and what time people need to be at work will modify the ride to get back 8:30 / 9am so we can get to work on time.

Put your name down if your interested. Happy to adapted route and finish times based on attendees and suggestions. :-bd

Well thanks to Roy, Phil and Brian for joining me on the ride this morning.
We set off from Exeter at 6:30 and soon found out the A377 to Barnstable was shut so detoured through the middle of Devon up to Torrington where we were introduced to some wet stuff called rain

Time for a coffee in the BP services and then we headed back whilst Brian headed off home from there.

With now the 3 of us we changed around leaders and changed the route so we could get back on some dry tarmac.

Was a great ride back. I left Phil and Roy at a coffee house whilst I headed back to Exeter and was at work for 9am and answering my 1st work call by a couple of minutes past.

Just goes to show that you can do early rdes in the middle of the week. Did not suffer with traffic and had a great time.

Thanks all and looking forward to doing the next one. :-bd

Yup, enjoyed the run muchly; ta for organising it Rob :-bd . Got to agree about getting away before the herd too. With our roads becoming ever busier, that is to say jammed during the holiday season, it's almost the only way to have a proper play for an hour or two, even in rural Devon. With the amount of early runs done recently we could have 'Early-Starts-'R-Us' as a SWB tag line :)

And to think Dynamight and I were called stupid when we first suggested and posted up early rides.

Apparently nobody would want to go

Wrong time of the day

People need to sleep

Nothing to overtake

Ha Ha ;agreed Simon. It's much better in the morning - open roads - loads of bends - no contest.

ps the rain spoilt it slightly but you try and ride accordingly and it doesn't always rain in the morning, although we do need it.

Thanks for the ride
