I've led rides before now and missed a turning on the satnav and then followed the recalculated route......let's just say there were a few sportsbike riders having to do a bit of gravel surfing. The Katoom will cope with most things.........famous last words!

No worries Andy, orange will overcome, it usualy does, ask Andy W, Gimlet, Bking Alan et al' - not to mention Herr Billie himself!
I'm just off to make sure the huskies are fit, hitched up to my Fut and ready to go, and that the St Bernard's got enough brandy in his barrel for the stragglers.

Paul, I too didn't like the green lanes (even bumpier than our back roads on Exmoor) but we soon got back on to civilised tarmac where Phil could lead at a better pace.

I later waved to Phil and peeled off cos' I looked up to see the weather appearing to be coming in earlier than expected. Yep it soon started but I stayed dry. Hope brekkie was good.

Thanks for doing this one Phil and I look forward to the next run together guys :-bd
old and disgraceful so doing what I can while I can before I can't

Cheers Phil, always interesting to see how the duke handles off road riding.

Almost beat the weather home, see you on the next one.

Thanks to Paul, Roy, Brian, Andy and Simon for turning out :-bd - thanks for TEC-ing Si :-bd :-bd

In short, we left Smiley's on time, the weather stayed dry for the entire planned route (also the 'unplanned' route around Stockland - but that's another story . . . ) and most of us arrived back at Smiley's 91 miles later at 0825 hrs for ~o) , brekkie, and a de-brief.

Just one pic' taken so posting it here rather than the gallery.

True to his word, Phil said "we might hit some green". We did. So soft either side of us although hard underneath; we started with six and got back with four.So a fairly bumpy, curvy kinda ride - much enjoyed. I continued the theme on the route home, using the old Chard road through Stockland where we had been earlier.
Good fun Phil: Thanks for the ride lads.

Thanks to Phil for leading an "interesting" route, bit of everything in there! I'm not sure some of those roads even appear on an OS map.....

Good to put faces to names and a real mix of bikes, so didn't feel too out of place.
