Yep - I'm good to go. Plastic repair to the rear mudguard was a success. Less so was the repair to the handguard but it's taped up so nothing should fly off during the ride, but as I'm TEC it won't affect any of you! Just got to get the controller for my heated jacket attached ( I know, luxury....)

For those out there who may be thinking of joining our 'Dirty Dozen' rideout, but need a reminder of the details, here's the two links to the original topic:

Part 1 - viewtopic.php?f=37&t=99255
Part 2 - viewtopic.php?f=37&t=99264

Basicaly, it's an 0815 hrs start, approx' 215 miles in total, starting and finishing at Tiverton McDonalds and taking in a lunch break at Hartland Quay in Nth Devon.

If you want to add your name to the lists just cut and paste.

They're playing with the dual cabbageway bit of the A361 link road between the motorway and Tivvy again

If you're coming from the M5 end and can't use the first Tiverton slip road for McDonalds do not fear, just carry on a mile to the Bolham roundabout (where the link road goes single cabbageway) and do a U-turn back a mile for McDoughnuts. As the "works" are "under development" you may well be able to get to McDs normally on Sunday morning, in which case this warning is bolleaux

P.S. Just wait til Tim Smits (the Eden project guy) has his new "attraction" under way - then there will be real chaos and North Devon will be completely closed for business :80:

There's roadworks up around Barnstaple way including sets of temporary lights. Not sure if it affects our route but if it does I'd expect us to get split up with such a large group.

We'll should be fine in the Barnstabubble area, wisely (or fortunately) my route shouldn't be affected by the works there.

Re' the A361 North Devon Link Road roadworks:

I was up that way yesterday p.m. so checked it out.
Coming off the M5 junction 27 roundabout on to the A361 towards Tiverton & Nth Devon you have two route options, 'Local Traffic' or 'Through Traffic'. 'Local Traffic' is your best option, this keeps you in the northbound lane from which you can then take the 2nd exit off of the A361 for Tivvy McDonalds (Tiverton Business Park, Lowman Way, Tiverton EX16 6SR).
If you take the 'Through Traffic' sign, that will route you over to the southbound lane and, as Ptolemyx says, you will have to go to the end of the A361 dual carriageway, go right around the roundabout taking the road from whence you came, then take the first exit.

Alternatively, meet up with Shooey & I at Smileys Cafe, Honiton EX14 1BQ - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Smi ... d-3.208314 - we're leaving there at 0700 hrs and taking the scenic route to Tivvy - e.g. no dual carriageways or motorways.

However you get there, we're in for a good day, so ride safe, we don't want you to miss it!

Re' the A361 North Devon Link Road roadworks:
Just had to come up from Exeter this afternoon. No problem accessing the slip road for McD's either way.
