Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Late notice Rideout Saturday 20th October

Post by Ming »

As the weather looks settled for this weekend and I can't get out on the ride the following weekend I'm going to head out somewhere on Saturday. Planning on heading east then up to Haynes museum for bacon bap etc. There's fuel nearby as well for those with peanut sized tanks and vociferous fuel consumption.

I'll be at the slip road into Westpoint Arena on the A3052 at Clyst St Mary, or if that's barricaded up, the main entrance into the site. Saves meeting at Bridge and having to faff around getting through Exeter. I'll be there at 08.45 aiming to get rolling by 9am. If nobody turns up then I'll go off somewhere on my own!

Pace will be dependent on the state of the roads but hoping it's not too wet and greasy. I'm on the large trailbike so bear with me........

I don't think there are any really snotty or grassy lanes on the planned route - I did this one with the Triumph guys from Bridge in the summer and they all survived. We'll see how many want to go before deciding if I need a TEC.

Sorry Andy, gotta do the 'W' thing this Saturday to make amends in advance for taking the 21st off to watch the Wimborne grasstrack (that's a rideout in itself), and the following Sunday (28th) is the 4 Counties ride - shame you can't make it.

Looks like just me and the Bunny, then. It's about 3 and a half hours of riding if Garmin is to be believed. Up to you whether you want to stop at Haynes for grub or crack on and finish earlier.

See you at Westpoint tomorrow

Nope, unless I get really lost!

South Coast to Uplyme, up to Sherborne and back to Haynes Museum for a brew. Then down to Martock and across to Crewkerne, Chard etc back to Exeter.

See you guys in the morning, fully fuelled if poss. :D
