You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Fred Hill ride to dartmoor prison

Post by Mervin »

Remembering Fred hill who protested for riders rights and died in jail

Fred Hill Ride on Sunday 10th Febuary, 2019
Local Start Points
Leaving Honiton Tesco at 9.45,
Leaving Pitstop Cafe, Exeter, at 10.15,
Leaving Sainsbury's Newton Abbot at 10.15,
Leaving Bridge Motorcycles Cafe, Exeter, at 10.15
Leaving BP Roundswell, Barnstaple, at 10.00
Leaving Plymouth B&Q car park Crownhill Plymouth at 11.00 (Ride direct to Princetown).
Arrive Princetown approximately 12.10
Main Meeting Point.
Most groups and some individuals will meet up at Mortonhampstead in the car park at the top end of town on Court Street, B3212, and leave Mortonhampstead at 11.30 to ride to Princetown . Arriving at Princetown, at approximately 12.00 we will park in the Prison Museum car park (bring a puck for your side stand). We will then walk down to the prison main gate. After a few words in memory of Fred, a minutes silence and leaving some flowers to be laid in the prison chapel, some riders will be going to the Plume of Feathers to warm up before heading for home. Not for the faint hearted, as Princetown, at around 1,430 feet (435 m) above sea level, is the highest settlement on the moor, and one of the highest in the United Kingdom. It is also the largest settlement located on the high moor and you may encounter mist and fog, gales force winds and heavy rain, debris and ice on the road and sleet and snow as we have in the past, but you will join some of the most committed bikers in the South West. But of course, it could be a warm and sunny day.
In memory of Fred Hill RIP.
