Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Sat August 17th Going East

Post by Ming »

I haven't led a ride this year so this'll be interesting...

Leaving Toby Inn at Middlemoor in Exeter 08.30 for a trip along the coast and lunch at Compton Abbas airfield. Lovely cafe there and the old boys can gaze wistfully at the biplanes flying by :-h

Haven't got a definite route yet but can give peeps a rough guide later. Needs to be a Saturday as I've got things to do on Sunday.

Not really suitable for 125s as I'll be doing my best to get ahead of holiday makers getting lost and locals going to the garden centres.

If we have a big crowd will do second man drop off or else just keep the guy behind in sight at junctions.

Sorry, will cancel this one for now. Loads are going on the RTTB the following day and I've spoken to a few that aren't and they can't make the Sat.

May still do a ride but it won't be as far as Wiltshire.

Yeah, I wanna get out as it's Bank Holiday the following weekend and it'll be gridlock central everywhere. Will post something up midweek

Before I posted this it would have been nice of my 90 year old mum to tell me she fell over during the week and fractured her pelvis 🤔
Looks like my next couple of weekends will be spent looking after her up in Brizzle, so unfortunately my ride is postponed indefinitely.

Will try to get her fit enough so I can do the one on 1st September.

Cheers guys. She's a stubborn old sod - spent 3 hours on the floor before an ambulance came, had a scan and promptly discharged herself! Trouble is, she can't move very well so I'm going up to look after her as much as I can. Not sure I'll do 3 weekends in a row so should be with you on the 1st 👍

Just seen this thread. Wouldn't have been able to make the ride as off to Cadwell Park at the weekend to watch BSB but see its now cancelled.

Sorry to hear about your Mum Andy but also great to hear that she is that strong willed at 90 years old..... good on her.

Hope she gets better soon.
