ICE - In Case of Emergency.... Great advice, please share.
We 'all' carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory. If you're involved in an accident or taken ill, the emergency services attending you wouldn't know who to call, and are unlikely to be able to get past the security on most phones. Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) campaign. The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE'
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when attending serious accidents there were always mobile phones with patients but they didn't know which number to call. He came up with a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel & hospital staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you've stored as 'ICE'.

So ...... None of you have screen locks on your phone? ICE has been around for a fair few years now, but how does anyone access the address book of a locked phone?
I was sceptical of what3words , but having seen it in use, would say there is little better for guiding some one to a specific spot.

It seems to be an idea that does not work with modern phones, my phone uses my face to unlock so no ones getting passed that, lock screens should have the capability to have ICE for example on it

I have a small USB stick contained inside this neat little case, which you turn 90 degrees and the USB comes out. It's on my house key ring which is always on me. My wife got them from Australia at www.iceemergency.com.au

They do dog tags with the memory stick in that you log any illness and emergency contacts on. Think it is called datatag. On the subject of what 3 words alot of emergency services use it , we're trying it on the blood bikes for late night home calls and so far is working ok. Puts you in a 3m square.

These phones these days that use finger print or facial image to open them - if you're in the situation where ice needs to be used, the person with your phone will undoubtedly have access to your unconscious body so holding the phone in front of your sleepy face or pressing a finger to the pad won't be much of a chore.

Ha well done Simon for pointing out the bleeding obvious.
I’ll go sit on in my corner and consider why I did not think of just that

I have my ICE set up on my phone and they don’t need to unlock your phone to be able to view your medial information and ice contact that’s the point. If your using an iPhone then......
To set up your details then go into settings then into Emergency SOS and fill out the info
To use it-
Lock your phone. Now wake it up but don't fully unlock it with the passcode or Touch ID. When you slide to get to the passcode screen, you should see Emergency at the top. Press it, and a new screen appears with a number keypad to dial, as well as Medical ID in the bottom left.

Moi aussi. From deciding to make a 'phone call to doing it takes me about 2 to 5 mins. A number not-in-my-directory could be 10 mins.
I have a 3g PAYG third hand device which I was given (free).
I put £20 credit on it 3 yrs ago and still have £12 left. Doc insisted I get one...HATE them ! I cringe every time I see somebody walking along using one.
A secondary whinge is that you can't slam it down when angry !!
