Every single bike on your list will readily do three figure speeds and all have a sporty theme.

From riding the 990 Superduke recently which also has a sporty theme have noticed a massive difference between being able to do triple figures and feeling like to need to at every opportunity. Actually did over 10 miles up a motorway at bang on 70mph and was totally comfortable. You would have NEVER seen me do that on a sports bike.

Hence also the need to test ride. If it’s basically a sports bike without fairing then it’s out.

Also why I am not including the big guns like Z1000, BMW S1000R, GSX-S1000 or the Superduke. Just going to be too powerful and too quick.

Thanks for the advice though going to have some open minded conversations with some dealers get some test rides in and let’s see where it takes me.

I think I might have even been one of them. With age and experiance I get it.....

As much as I still like the sports bikes for the track (hence will continue to hire track bikes) I no long have any desire to own one for the road.

As much as I still like the sports bikes for the track (hence will continue to hire track bikes) I no long have any desire to own one for the road.

If you no longer want or desire a bike for the road wtf is this thread about ???
And if you can borrow a super duke occasionally why would you need one of your own

He's got the strategy all wrong...

Get yourself a decent bike, stash it at a friends house with bike kit.

Tell the wife he's taken up Golf and use that for an excuse for zipping off to "have a round or two".

The sad thing is there are people that do things like that.

I have mate who told his mrs that his new bike was only borrowed from a another friend "to see if he likes it".

Mark you know me well.... however it seems I’m quite a good sales man. Plus also been quite open about not buying out right going to do lease plan style deal. Will but £2k down and then £100 to £150 per month and then hand the bike back in 3 years and start again. This way the savings don’t get a massive hit and I get a brand new bike every 3 years meaning the wife can also go to Disney 15 times a year as the money is still in the bank ...... result

That's an expensive way to have the use of a £10k bike for 3 years.... but in reality it's probably not far off the new bikes' depreciation, which just highlights the problem with new vehicle depreciation.
