I've always travelled up on the Sunday afternoon/evening and stayed over in a Travelodge and gone into the show on the Monday. Still busy but nowhere near the foot traffic that the weekends achieve and you actually get to get a proper look at the various bikes and what's on offer.

Went up a couple of years ago, during the week I think.
Just an early morning road trip, don't traffic wasn't too bad, had pretty much seen all of it by lunch time though.

I'll be going up with a couple of mates, just a good day out rather than a shopping event ;)

Just me and the wife going up ,i want to find something smaller but still sporty as the FJR is getting a bit heavy for my old legs.Something like a CBF springs to mind

Ha Ha know what you mean bout CBF ,i need something along those lines size wise where both feet can touch the floor and carry both of us .I also need to go lighter than the FJR which shouldn't be hard.

Apart from the weight what do you think of the JFR as a pillion touring bike?

Hi Kata I think its a cracking bike to be honest and with finger tip adjustments to the suspension carrying a pillion is no problem ,the only thing that needs sorting is the standard seat

Well we went and we saw .So the Norton Commando with higher bars quite nice as on test ride a few weeks back i found the bars too low.Kawasaki Z900 retro well i never had the original nice looking but not quite sure so will have to test that one.Number one choice for me and the missus and she felt quite comfy on the back was the Ducati Monster 821 so will have to test ride that.
Any views on the Monster good or bad ?

Ducati servicing is a bit intense and expensive.
