Who remembers Andy Ibbott?

Post by TLS-Moose »

Folks who read bike mags in the late 90's and early 00's probably remember him. He also ended up running the UK wing of the California superbike school.

This popped up on faceache earlier. Makes you think. Good to see he's finally bouncing back ......

Like Moose said, I remember him from magazines & the CSS.

I'm just amazed he's not been snapped up within the motorcycle industry, either as a coach or mentor in something like Talan Skeels-Piggins project or even in the sales/manufacturer side - feel he has so much experience going to waste.

He was featured on BBC2’s employable me last week. Spoke to him just before his op. Didn’t know what had happened until I saw the program

I know that Andy had a fairly severe stroke a number of years ago and that he’s worked really hard to recover, even doing marathons I believe. I didn’t know that he was on tv last week, I’ll try to find it on iPlayer. Top chap, had a really good chat with him when I did CSS levels 1 & 2 in 2011. I’d have thought he’d be an ideal rider coach.

Don’t know the man personally however have watch him on you tube following the 6 eppersode tv show they did on the CSS and have to say it was some of his learning that has made me the rider I am today.

As I used to read fast bikes mag back in 2010 - 2012 he used to right in there each months and give riding tips that used to be my go to area in the magizine.

So sad to see somebody change so much from a stroke but got to say good on him for his drive and determination to keep going and still want to do more. I have to question if this happened to me if I would have the same drive to keep going.
