Made something to air leather trousers

Post by Jug »

After riding yesterday I struggled to find a way to air out my leather trousers, can't just turn them inside out like I do with my textiles, so today I knocked up a quick system to deal with that task.

2off old PC psu fans 80mm
1off 12v dc adapter recycled from something or other.

I discovered that the bare fan will zip into the ankle section and hold there pretty well.

So trousers on a hanger, one fan in each leg, leave running for a little while - sorted.

Will also work from a 12v lighter socket in a car/van... so no reason to have stinky leathers on track days. :D

I've been wondering for years what to do with those fans and that old adapter :?: - they'll do the job nicely on a pair of shreddies I forgot to wash after Llandow :80:

Awesome idea, maybe that will be a new line of work for you. I looked in to buying a leather drier and they are mental money so I just let them go crusty and give the a shake when required 🤢

For jackets or 1 piece suits you could use a wetsuit dryer.

I'll probably make something like that soon, I've got a few fans kicking around...
