A lot of routes mentioned if sunny, will be busy , but imho, stay clear of south side of a38, between Plymouth to newton, busy and boring,
B3193 either way is good at times, going up then moretohampstead to whiddon, across up to a3124 to winkleigh, stop of for cider at sams, Torrington, down a386, hatherleigh, then a—a372 to brandis corner and back through halwill junction to a386, or leave it out and stay on 386, then go down and take old a30 to lifton, or go tavy via mart tavy ,in that triangle you have gulworthy, chillaton and Milton Abbott, all good possibly quietish roads that are sweet. Stay clear of most of Dartmoor tbh . Cornwall will be solid so dip a toe and get the feck out, lol. Always best this side of the tamar!! Oops, forgot torpoint twisters, but tbh it’s so busy a lot of time it’s not worth it..

The B3212 across Dartmoor (Exeter to Plymouth virtually) is good for scenery, unfortunately the low speed limit and wandering sheep/ponies spoil the bike riding but if you want a break from scratching it's worth it. Though there are some nice corners to be had along the way and a couple of food stops
