Forum business cards - update / personalised.

Post by Jug »

I've been goofing around with Publisher to see if I could come up with a redesign for the forum business cards.

My aim here was to make something that could just be home printed on to decent paper, trimmed with scissors and dispersed at will.
You get 10 cards per sheet on the template I used, which is about how many I'd carry anyway.
Doing this would also give the more computer savvy of us the opportunity to personalise the cards, which could be as minimal as just having your forum name on the card to maybe a sketch of your bike.

So here are four I've done and I'm looking for some feed back on them.
My main aim here is to have something that looks ok but uses minimal ink as it'll be our own printers that are being used.
It's easy to make a business cards look flashy when they are fully coloured but that could be expensive if it's your deskjet that's doing it.
Also I haven't used colour but maybe a splash of colour would look better and not take too much from the printer cartridges.

So here is my first few attempts.. what'd you think?

Hi Jug inspector. I do like your suggested card but have to say that I also really like the current cards.

The biggest thing that as a forum we struggle with is people actual handing them out to people. How many times do you walk up to somebody new strike up a conversation about bikes and then hand out a card.

I could even splash a little colour on the design if you like?
I'm happy to design something for the group if you give me some idea what you're after.

i don't think we can be bike specific on the card as we aren't on the forum, so maybe a generic bike design would be better?

but which style of generic motorcycle??
I think the forum use to have Ducati side profile on the header, what happened to that?

Anyway.. pick a bike image that you like and I can slap something together as a first draft.

Was looking for something obvious but not specific.

Give a card with a sports Bike on to a Tourer and they won't be interested and vice versa.

I'm even more specific than that.. if it's not my exact bike in the exact colour then I'm out! :-l
