If you go to court now, the fines are based on your earnings. 56 is almost double the 30 limit so hardly surprising really.

Yup, speeding is clearly now only for the unemployed.

Does anyone follow BvG on 44teeth?

BvG got caught speeding this year in Switzerland, whilst making an episode.
He was just 2 km/h from prison, he received an instant 3 month ban (so his bike had to be transported out of the country), fined 4,000 swiss francs on the spot (£3,190) for doing 144 km/h (90mph) in an 80 km/h (50 mph), he was caught by a speed trap camera.

The support vehicle (a van) got caught doing 82 in an 80 and was fined 100 francs.

So, don't speed in Switzerland...

Even in a van.. £80 fine for travelling 1.24 mph over the speed limit... bit harsh that...

Just don't go to Switzerland! I went once and was lucky enough to not have any run ins with the Police, despite ragging it most of the trip. That was before I realised they were so hard line.

Yeh, me too!

It was only when watching that video that I realised what my mate & I were risking when we were there back in 2016, we'd regularly break off from our group for a session of spirited riding. If I were to go back to the Alps now I'd give Switzerland a miss.

How do you mean you got done both ways? As you went by it one way or it got you going in one direction and then again on the way back through in the opposite direction ? The main camera out the back or side can catch you coming towards it or going away from it on either carriageway. But that is a laser device and would only record your speed at the time it’s fired at you, so not convinced it can work out a average speed over a distance. The other cameras will probably be only recording number plates on bikes as they pass if they are caught.

Thanks for the heads up / reminder. I do remember watching that on 44 teeth. I am in Switzerland on business next week and have a 30 minute drive in a hire car will will now be a 35 minute drive ^#(^
