Euro Track Day 2020 ....

Post by Shooey »

Trying to generate some traction with the idea of a Euro Track Day for next year!!

No further plans, no specific dates in mind, just a strong desire to loose my euro virginity!

Is anyone up for this? Would love some euro experienced people involved, as you guys know the drill!

Would be awesome if we could get a group of us together!

It terms of cost, for a 3 days euro track day, I am told, you need to budget for between £1200 and £1500, despite the headline suggesting £600!

I wouldn't think it cost that much at all.

I think the most i've paid is £900 and that was with taking Kim along too.

Depends on Circuit too, Mugello is crazy expensive so pack your wallet.

I fancy going back to Parcmoto as it was a great Circuit to play on.

If you're serious I can ask my mates who have done Portimao, Aragon and doing Jerez next year. They had the bikes transported over and flew in to a local airport for the Portugal one and drove down in the van for Spain. I'll ask who they used for the trackday and the transport if you like.
I did one at Jerez when I lived in Spain with Focused Events. Very well organised but I've nothing to compare them against.
KTM 1190ADV - sold
KTM 790ADV - sold
KTM 790 Duke - current
Honda CB300R - can I get any smaller 🙄

To try and keep it below £1k would be good.
Is this something that you would seriously consider Si?

Andy, absolutely serious!! Good to have some fresh input into this!

I’d like to see if there is a group of us considering it and then maybe a pub meet sometime soon to thrash out a few ideas and best practices etc.

Thanks, 👍👍

Done portimao 3 times with No Limits, enjoyed it, have to say I preferred Parcmoto.

I'd be tempted to go back there.

No Limits deal consists of all your kit there and and 3 days on track (usually 21x20 minute sessions) and 3 days b&b in the hotel.

You have to get to the destination your own way, we flew to Faro for portimao, Barcelona for Parcmoto and I think it was Alicante for Cartagena.
Sorted a hire vehicle that we all chipped in on for Rental and fuel etc.
Worked well as a team in the garages too if anyone needed help.

I do 1 or 2 euro track sessions a year and your budget is slightly high but in the ball park. The costs on top of the basic package come from tyres £200 -400, repatriation insurance £50, getting and picking up the bike from the distribution centre £70, flights £120 ish, car hire £100 with fuel and ins, fuel for bike £60, food and extra nights accommodation if you choose to stay a bit longer.

Most of this can be mitigated one way or another. Drop me a pm if you have any specific questions or would like a quick chat about it.

I suppose that’s the starting point and the tricky bit - when?

Once we have a date, people know if they can or can’t.

What’s the best way to decide on a date? I’m totally flexible except August but I’m assuming that it makes better since to go either side of our summer not slap bang in the middle!!

How about September 2020?

Gives us loads of time to plan and sort the £££!
