Which track bike?

Post by Fozz »

The wife says i am not allowed to use the Xr on track so still thinking about either getting a bike to use on track and road or dedicated track bike?
All help and thoughts appreciated!

If you can stretch to 3750 I have a zx6r with a decent spec package available or can go down to 3400 with the lower spec forks?

Kawasaki zx6r 2008 p8f on a 09 with v5 and everything.

Fozz if you can afford to stretch to Ruffians then worth doing. If not then you can get a lot of bike for £2.5k if your prepaired to go just track bike and not get a bike that you ride on the road as well. Take a look at the usual places (ebay etc) and you will soon see a bike list. It then comes down to what you want from the bike and if your have any brand loyalty.

It i might suggest you might want to consider the important points for you. (ie. upgraded brakes, quick shifter etc) then have a look at what you can get that has already had the upgrades you want.

A good place to look would be on the TrackDay Riders forum, on the For Sale slate:

Not seen that before. I am on the facebook page but didn't realise they had a forum as well.

I know of a 2000 R6 going for £1500. Still in road trim, never been tracked as far as I know.

May well be selling my track r1, 2003 first of the fuel injection. Has spare tank, fairings and two sets spare wheels(one set wets ) Have registation paperwork for it but really only a track bike. Not a pristine bike just a good solid reliable steed.Power commander with custom map , quick shifter and quick reaction throttle. Looking for about 2k but open to haggle.
