todays BSB & WSBK'S

Post by deej »

Well what did people make of todays racing ?

wsbks was entertaining as usual, especially race 2 and the lack of orders  brillaint results for the italians in their back yard :P :P :P

bsb was the usual bore at the front so i did the unthinkable and put F1 on.

b supersport wasnt upto its usual standard but still very entertaining and the correct result in the end

The Yamahas do tend to run off with it, but the battles between Josh Brookes and Easton were good, the final 'nudge' in the chican on the final lap happened pretty much right in front of me.

I was glad to see that Plater's position was reinstated for what McConnel did to him

Felt sorry for Glen Richards, he's got a proper limp on him.

On another note, there is a 125 racer known in the paddock as 'Basil Fawlty'

Didn't see the WSBK but the BSB was fun, found a spot on the fist corner with a view of the TV screens adn pretty muc relaxed in the sun, great way to use the last sunny Sunday in September 8)

Oh, you were at that spot too eh? In the correct stand on the bend (the 2nd one was the best) we could see all the way down the pit straight and down to the left kink after the first corner, plus the screen 8) I gave McConnell a boo when he came past at the end of the 600SS race, glad to hear thgat the result was reversed. No malice I guess, he just got a bit carried away.
I was fortunate enough to blag hospitality tickets from a supplier so it was free entry with free food and drink from Tom Tunstall's Superbike team 8) 8) They looked after us superbly, thank you to all involved :D Big queues on the way out - what will it be like for the GP I wonder? - a good trick was to go left out of the car park (we were in the end one) and head through the back lanes to Bicester to meet the M40/A34 - much quicker than sitting like lemons in the traffic queue (went in the car so we didn't have to mess around lugging bike gear or getting changed)

Scotty I agree with ya, it always make me laugh when people slate donington for not getting out in 5 mins. Anywhere that has over a 100k people and probably 50k vehicles would struggle whether its a bike meet, formula 1 or a airshow it will always be a problem

To be honest we just wandered around taking it all in, was the gf's first visit to a bike race and she loved it hence couldn't sit still!!!

It's definatly on the list for a track day though, I'm waiting for the heavans to align so I can do Snetterton on the Friday, Rockingham on the Saturday and then Silverston on the Sunday for the run home.

Might even try and go old school doing it all without the aid of a van

Roll on 2010!

I like your thinking of the 3 dayer but not the old skool thoughts. I like the back up of having a car incase it goes tits up

Silverstones a good track if you have a 1000 but not so much fun on a 600,but thenive only done the full GP circuit there. It comes in about 5th on my list of favourite tracks I've ridden

Well, it wouldn't take much to change my mind.....

Not done silverstone so couldn't comment re the 1000's, although to be honest I didn't overly struggle at Snetterton last time out on the 600, just found I did most of my passing round the outside buffalo girls styleee.

3 day header is the way to go, I'm looking at it as preperation for the 2011 1 or 2 week euro track fest I've planned!

And no, I'm not leaving anything other than a cool photo album for my children!

Tee!Hee! I did have the ol' shirt off during the first Superbike race actually, we were in the small uncovered stand on Copse between the larger covered 2nd and 4th stands, proper little suntrap and pretty warm too, just the job for tanning the lard... 8)

A good tip for anyone else travelling around the area of M40/A34 when there's lots of traffic is if coming South, leave at J10, or if coming along the A43 from Silverstone (ie next June after the GP), don't join the M40 South at J10, but take the B430 from that very junction - it's the old A43 (from pre-M40 days), runs roughly parallel to the motorway, is A-road width and quality with a couple of reasonable length straights on it to make progress past traffic, and rejoins the A34 about a mile south of the junction with the M40 - gives a break from cabbageway and M-way tedium, and cuts out all the queueing that happens Southbound for J9 - I use it most of the time when I'm heading home around there 8)
