So, the old dog is still up there, with a quick(er) team mate.
Suzuki seems to have finally come good.
The (wrong?) Ducati is up at the pointy end.
Aprilia and KTM didn't fair too badly.
Crashlow is continuing where he left off in '16
Tech3 are having another fast start to the season with Zarco
Lorenzo is perhaps realising he's repeated Rossi's mistake .......
It's a long season ahead, no doubt plenty of time for all this to be tipped on its head....

MotoGP - Round 1 over, what does it mean?

Re: MotoGP - Round 1 over, what does it mean?
Yep agree with all that moose but also unlike marquez when he started being at the front of the group vinalez was riding quite mature,
Only made a couple off small mistakes rather than pushing too hard.
As for zarco that was such a shame. Recon he is going to be a wildcard this year.
Iionone has learnt to crash without taking other's out with him which was nice to see.
I was really surprised by the aprillia though as he was closing on pedrosa, If the race was 2 laps longet like it originally was, he could have got him.

Just read a report from Crashlow saying that team orders were to swap front Tyres from the preferred hard compound to medium.
Also, we may have had a sweepstake at the pub for the lap that Carl would decide to take an early bath, not saying that it was on the cards or anything. Congrats forestcat.
Next race is April 9th from Argentina, starts at 8pm. See you in the pub?

It means the crashlow sweepstake will continue ( for pub attendees only) so get on down and join on in
50p ( big money stakes and no spread betting )closest lap wins the pot, equidistant = split pot.
Plus free bike parking round the corner, so get on down

I thought last year was the best season for quite some time. This season could be even better

I also agree Moose.
I think Vinales has spurred Rossi on a bit in a way he hasn't been encouraged for a while. I always rated Dovi (and Iannoni if he could control himself) so am not surprised to see him outshining Lorenzo. I thought Rossi could have tamed the beast but I really couldn't see Lorenzo adapting his style to the Duke.
I've always loved Suzuki so that was the most encouraging bit for me.

Got to say that Zarco made a name for himself. That's what he used to do in Moto2 just didn't expect that he would be able to do it MotoGP as well
Maverick was always going to do well so he should be good to watch this year
Cal only way to win a race is finish it
Feel sorry for Lorenzo as a bit of a fan and he should have done better then that. Come on old boy!!!!
Rossi and Marquez basically as per last year so watch out....
Danny who? Poodrosa.......
Got to say good on Dovi hope he is up there all year he deserves a better end of year result.

Re: MotoGP - Round 1 over, what does it mean?
Lorenzo will probably have a few good rounds on the Ducati this season, it's a far better bike than the one that Rossi rode in 2011/12. Everyone (including Jorge himself probably) was expecting more from him last Sunday, at a circuit where both he and the Ducati had gone well in the past.
Throughout the season I expect it to be a scrap between the young Spanish hotshots, Marc and Maverick, with some interjections throughout from nos. 46, 26, 04, 35 (presuming he can stay on), 41, 43 and 45 if it's wet, and 5 & 94 when the going is right. I'd like to see Sam Lowes make some progress and I really want the KTMs to get up to speed.
As usual the best racing came from Moto3 and Moto2 - for those as yet not aware of the superior spectacle of the "support" classes, do yourselves a favour and spend some time learning who's who and watching the races, if nothing more it'll give you an idea of who to watch when Valentino retires....
