Brittany B&B - Mototaranis

Post by richiec »

Just got back from a trip over to Brittany. We stayed at a fantastic B&B / Guesthouse in Reminiac, South West of Rennes Mototaranis run by Ken & Lesley. We spotted Mototaranis on another biker forum and will most definitely be going back to visit again - Great accommodation, outstanding home cooked food and drink, a massive garage for the bikes and loads of helpful advice on roads to ride and places to visit.

First time we've ever been to Brittany, what a amazing place to ride - excellent roads with hardly any traffic, loads of places to visit.

If you do manage to get over, make sure you visit the motor museum at Loheac. http://www.manoir-automobile.fr/welcome/index.php Massive collection of cars, carriages, boats, models etc. Not many bikes but even so, well worth a visit and only 8 euros to get in !

Hi, I am planning a trip over next year, though more than likely at the moment to head towards the Eiffel mountains. You'll have a more riding under your belt by then and it will be a great trek. Come along to the Exeter Pub meet next week, 20th June, we're going to put the idea out to guys and gals and take in everyones thoughts and ideas about it. Just a very early planning meet to gauge intererest and see who to taylor towards. The thread in Meets and events.

Yep, RS2000 was really nice. They also had a nice Capri. Shame I couldn't capture on film just how great the roads are over there though, they make you think that they were designed specifically for motorcyclists - they were so much fun, even when wet !

You can usually get a discount for Brittany ferries if you book before end of year for following summer. I recall we got 20% off using a code we were given at the NCE bike show. Most of the guest houses / B&B's usually have a code that offers 10%.

Here's a few snaps including Sebastian Loeb's championship winning Citroen. The bike in the background is a limited edition CBX:

That museum looks good with several unusual exhibits - the Lancia's and the Aston for example - and worth going to see (though little holds a candle to this, on the other side of the country - http://citedelautomobile.com/en/home )

Nice photo's of a nice area :D

Wow, that looks amazing I don't understand how these museums only charge around a tenner when we get fleeced over here ?

Thanks for posting that, one trip we are considering is across to Lake Constance taking in the B500 which is meant to be a awesome piece of road - could call into the museum en route :D

Moosey, that looks epic! Certainly makes some of our museums looks a little shabby

Richie, that B500 road I'm sure was mentioned last night at the pub meet 8)
