Best place for tyres in Falmouth?

Post by Oaf »

A little specific I know, but the rear tyre on my Fazer is looking a bit flaky, and I don't want to get sold some super duper racing tyre I don't need!

Thanks :)

In falmouth I couldn't tell you. Sorry

I tend to get mine from ebay and then take the loose wheels to a tyre shop to get fitted.

Tyre Finders in Commercial Road, Penryn - might be worth popping into their Pool Branch first and speak to Carmelo for advice on what tyre to suit you and your bike.

If you have loose wheels then get Penryn to fit & balance, if you need the wheel taken out then get Carmelo to do the whole thing.

Wouldn't advise anyone else in Penryn.

Thanks for answering a question I hadn't asked yet. The ex-Toyo place in falmouth does metzelers so it was between them and Tyrefinders plus maybe Taylors in Pool. I'll pop to Pool Tyrefinders first though.

Spent a couple of hours over at Pool with the infamous Carmelo. He's a star! New rear tyre, chain properly tensioned (was a bit flappy), cleaned and oiled, back wheel thoroughly cleaned and rebalanced, front tyre, disc pads and brake fluid all checked, all for £150. Marvellous. Thanks for the tip :)

Happy to help Oaf - sort of service I'd expect from Carmelo.

Dai, not sure if quoting the obvious but Taylors at Pool is a different business to tyrefinders at Pool. Taylors are OK but be careful, they're inclined to quote tyre prices + VAT.

Scouted Pool Tyrefinders on Saturday on the way to look at a bike but they had already closed. At least I know where they are now.
