The forgotten lands...

You all know I like a good rant and a recent comment from Robbo has set me off again

"Nothing's normal down here, we're the land that time (and Westminster) forgot."

I think it's oh so true. Government and the decisions made regarding investing in the nation seem to be centred around London with the only consideration for the rest of us being the odd little scrap thrown to the poor little devils up in the grim North. The media is just as skewed to the capital and it's close neighbours. As for the billions on HS2, how will that be good for us?

I think HS2 will get cancelled.

The southwest should at least get a boost from fishing, not to mention tourism as people avoid Europe for a while.
Several ports around the country are set to become super ports as they will have duty free areas.

There's an old saying that rings true.

"Nothing cures high prices like high prices".

They'd still be out, just driving even slower.

I've heard that the government are now trying to push through this...
If you are renting your accommodation and 'think', remember I just said 'think' you have the corona so self isolate, you are not only entitled to SS pay from day 1, but also that you'll get 3 months rent free.
The landlord is unable to claim it back from anyone either.

WTF !

I’d like to blame them for E10 but that’s a different conversation.

But ruin a hobby when I’ve just got into it

Nothing to worry about there. It's just some idiot anti-poverty campaigner (Richard Murphy - chartered accountant and a political economist).
Private landlords are always an easy & first target from a certain type of person, like this guy. His next target is surprisingly....... the banks. :)):
Luckily Westminster mostly ignores them when they set off on a crusade to rid the world of capitalism.
