Oulton Bloody Park

Post by R6 STU »

Probably one of my most frustrating tracks. Can never seem to put it together. Takes ages to get warmed up.

I know how you feel I love the track but with the bumps and the camber it’s really tricky. Really does not help when the bike your hiring has fuel problems.

Normally manage around a 1:57 on the ZX636 but put me on the GSXR 1000 round Oulton and my best was a 2:05.

I don’t know if I’d fancy a 1000 round there to be honest.

The faster you go the more you think you’re going to crash, then you realise actually you’re safe and you can go quicker.

I have to say was not a fan of 1000 at Oulton I felt like I was riding a bucking bronco. Front lifting ever time I twisted the wrist, rear lifting on the breaks, acceleration on bumpy twisty track my brain could not compute.

Think a good 750 / 150bhp had got to be my limit.

Have to agree on Oulton, very tricky to string together a decent lap, always bits i could of gone cleaner or faster, humpy bumpy nightmare of a place

Thats a shame. Absolutely loved it with all the elevation changes and ballsey corners.
Sort of halfway between a Donington or a Cadwell. Think I only did it 3 or 4 times.
Should have made the effort to do more.
Got a reserve place on the YZF750 so had to start from the back.
