Hi Brumie biker moved to Dawlish,
58 yrs old been biker forever on & off due to working abroad but still a biker.

I have a 99 superblack bird whats with this rectifier problem any advice?

Hi Wayne and welcome to SWB, always glad to welcome someone from Brumagen on board.
Your reg/rec problem is common with Blackbirds I'm told. It's pretty common on other bikes too it seems, my old Aprilia had it and so did my 2006 Sprint 1050 when I first got it. The replacement to go for is a Mosfet item. You'll need to check your generator's not fried too. An essential is to make sure all connections and wiring are at least up to par; preferably well above it. The Blackbird forum will have all the info' you'll ever need on this. Good luck.

These people MotoElectrical should be able to supply a Mosfet reg/rec for the Bird:-

Cheers bud i have orderd 1 from Jaws seem to get good ratings on ebay £90 so we shall see ....will let you know thanks for the info all the same👍

Thanks guys I have orderd 1 from Jaws they get good reviews on ebay so we shall see £90
think i may get a cheepo one as well for a get me hm spare.

I have seen on some forums Bird owners fitting rec/reg form other bikes ie Gixer, or R1 any thoughts on this? are they any more reliable?
