Honda Forks
Need some advice about Honda CBR forks that I can't seem to find on the net.
What forks, as in year, will fit my 2002 F4i.
I can't seem to find when they changed etc.
Will RR forks from the same year fit etc.
Need to replace my right one. Tried to change the seals etc, but it was an absolute [bar steward] to do. As most of you know they should just pull apart with some force, but would this little shit......Nope. Had to prize the seal out, but annoyingly slightly pitted the fork, hence the leak!

Re: Honda Forks
Depending on the damage you've caused, it might be worth replacing the stanchion. You can find them at Wemoto at a reasonable price.

That's handy to know. Didn't think you could get them any more new.

Ha! Yeah somebody mentioned you! Need some advice on forks for my CBR. Got a leaky one, replaced the seals but still leaking so may need to replace them don't think they were done all the time they had the bike!
Re: Honda Forks
Not that I've tried it but I've heard people mention about superglue?! Surely that can't be a thing?

Re: Honda Forks
Don't do it.
Would need to see the forks to see how much damage has been done to them.
If you've got a slight bend in the stanchion then it's not gonna work.

Re: Honda Forks
Best bet is whip the fork or bike to Si, and he'll be able to judge if they are bent, damaged or need replacing.
Also be worth giving them a full service with new oil and seals, and if your going that far have them set up to your weight and riding style

Re: Honda Forks
My friend is a former bike mech and my go to guy. I took the bike to him and we set about stripping the forks down starting with the one that was leaking.
Simple process, pull them apart with a bit of force etc........er nope. For over 2 hours we tried to seperate with no joy. So carefully we had to prize the seal out, but slipped after about an hour, and marked it.
We continued and removed it. Changed the oil etc. But the mark dips below the seal causing the leak.
Would a hornet of the same year fit? Can't seem to find the right answer!
