Am I in North Devon?

Post by ptolemyx »

North Molton is North of the North Devon Link Road. North Molton parish is in the North Devon District Council area. Nearest coast is Lynton 12 miles north of us.

Alright, you win, I concur, North Molton qualifies as North Devon - ish (see last comment), politicaly anyway.
What threw me was the fact that most (but not all) of the people I've met in your neck of the woods seemed nearly normal, so I naturaly assumed that North Molton COULDN'T be part of North Devon. You lot are much more like us proper folk from East Devon which, on checking your map I can see is where North Molton really is :)): .

And if we draw a central line running North/South with equal areas of the county either side to the West and East we find North Molton is pretty damn near on that line so that would make us Mid-Devon =:)

But south molton also falls into the quadrant of north devon so how could it be both north and south at the same time, it's a contradiction. A bit like owning a Suzuki yet insisting you're a motorcyclist.

Naw . . . . . none of the above is true (except for the Suzuki bit), North Molton is in East Devon - the northern bit  .

Does it matter? You all eat scones the wrong way wherever you are in Devon... :-)

Wot utter tosh John!
Scones when eaten correctly have as much jam and cream on them as possible. It doesn't matter cream or jam first just as long as the calorie count is at least 1200 per scone. But I will say cheese scones are best with butter first then a great slab of cheese. not t'other way round...

May I humbly suggest you try toasted crumpet with lightly melted cheddar and a dollop of strawberry jam - don't knock it til you've tried it  :-bd
